Turn an image into an old monotone printing press effect
Hi friends, here comes tutsfriend with one more quick tip. This quick tip is really very easy to practice and gets you result in few seconds. I am sure you people are gonna love it. In this tutorial we are going to see how to turn a photo into an old monotone printing press effect. Ok let us go into the tutorial.
Step 1: Create a new document with white color background
Step 2: Open a picture like this and drag and drop it into the new document above the white color background.

Step 3: Goto -> Image Adjustments -> Brightness/Contrast and pull the contrast slider to the right extreme with the legacy option checked like this.
Step 4: Next goto the layers palette and change the blending mode of that layer into Luminosity and you will get something like this.
